Arsene Wenger is confident that the Gunners midfielder Mesut Ozil will be fit enough to face Norwich on Saturday.

The German international was substituted during a World Cup qualifying match against Sweden with a minor knee complaint, but it is not expected to keep him out of Arsenals next game at the Emirates this weekend.

When speaking to the club’s website Wenger said: “He is alright. He came back with a knock on the knee, but it was just a kick.

“We will have a test on Friday to see if he is fit enough for Saturday or not. When you have not played, there is always a little doubt, but not a major one.”

Bacary Sagna and Santi Cazorla could also be available for Saturdays match after having been out with ankle and hamstring injuries.

“Sagna is 80 per cent fit and he will have a test,” Wenger said. “Cazorla is available in training, but he is not match-fit. It is just about competitiveness with him.

“There is a possibility both are in the squad for Saturday. I have not decided whether they will start or not.”

Wenger later added that Theo Walcott will be out for a further two weeks.
