It was bad enough that the 64-year-old Wenger had just witnessed his at the time top of the table team get taken apart at Anfield in a 5-1 hammering, but to slip and fall on his backside when entering Liverpool Lime Street station was like rubbing salt into the wound.
The Arsenal boss was rushing along with the rest of the team to catch the train back to London yet when just through the entrance doors he slips banging his head on a pane of glass before falling over.
British transport police were on hand to help him back to his feet, and when contacted by the Daily Mirror later a club spokesman said that Wenger was fine.
