It would Appear that West Ham have already given up hope of trying to keep New Zealand international defender Winston Reid at the club past summer , and have already sent scout out to look for his replacement with Senegal international Kara Mbodj top of the list.

Reid pushed for a move to Arsenal during the January window but nothing materialized, but he will now be able to walk away from Upton Park for free in the summer and have both Arsenal and Spurs chasing his signature.

According to the Mirror, West Ham scouts have been keeping a close eye on Belgium side Genk’s Mbodj, with the club supposedly trying to sign him on the last day of the window.

Mbodj however is in Africa on international duty competing in the Africa Cup of Nations, and despite the Hammers best efforts a deal could not be finished in time, with manager Sam Allardyce now forced to wait until the summer.
