Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has once again spoken of his desire to keep German international Lukas Podolski at the Emirates, saying that Inter Milan’s interest in the Gunners forward is a “joke”.

This comes despite the fact Podolski cannot get a starting place in Wenger’s team, knowing that he must be playing regular first team football if he hopes to keep his place in the German national team.

Meanwhile Wenger has said there is little chance that the 29-year-old will move to Serie A and hopes he will continue to fight for a starting place in the team.

Wenger said: “That is a joke and Inter Milan are not serious.

“He is a player of Arsenal football club and I want him to stay. When you stay somewhere you give your best to justify your wages and your love for the club.

“I hope he will still be at Arsenal.”
