Roberto Martinez is today rubbishing reports that say Irish international right-back Seamus Coleman will be moving to Old Trafford in January for £25 million.

Ahead of the Toffee’s trip to Hull City on New Year’s Day the Everton boss told talkSPORT that he has had no contact with Manchester United regarding the former Sligo Rovers defender.

“For me it’s nothing to comment, I haven’t seen that and I’ve got no recollection of that, “Martinez said.

“As you can imagine what we want at the football club is to build something that will make us stronger and the last thing we want is to lose important players.”

Coleman has attracted interest from a number of clubs since moving to Goodison Park in 2009 where he has made 159 appearances while scoring 17 goals for Everton, which is quite impressive for a defender.
