Luis Suarez has stepped up his attempts to force through a deal to join Real Madrid.

Suarez has stated his desire to leave Anfield this summer more than once, at it appears Real Madrid is his preferred destination.

Both Karim Benezema and Gonzalo Higuain are free to leave the Bernabeu this summer should Madrid’s valuation of the pair be met, meaning there is room for at least one striking addition with the Spanish giants.

Despite his temperamental behaviour, you can’t question Suarez’s ability and at times during his two and a half years in England he has carried Liverpool on his own.

Should the unlikely happen and Suarez remains a Liverpool player come August and the start of the season, he will still have to sit out the opening six games following his 10 match ban for biting Branislav Ivanovic last campaign.

Liverpool have already brought in striking reinforcements this summer, with the addition of Celta Vigo’s Iago Aspas.

Suarez’s complaints

Liverpool’s number seven has grown increasingly tired of the perceived media abuse and feels unfairly treated by the English FA.

“Without any proof they gave me an eight-match ban, but with Terry, where they had proof, lip-readers, they gave him four, I’m South American and I think that’s the root of all of this,” Suarez told television show RR Gol.

It’s hard to argue against his comments with the English FA accused of double standards when dealing with the two racism allegations.

Suarez once again stated his love for Liverpool in the interview saying: “Liverpool is a club that I dreamt about playing for as a boy. The stadium is spectacular, the fans are phenomenal: people with tattoos of me, things that I could never have imagined.

Unfortunately for Liverpool fans his love for the club probably won’t be enough to keep Suarez a Red!
