It looks like Fernando Torres Chelsea’s nightmare is finally coming to an end.

Catalan giants Barcelona are preparing to bid £17million for the Chelsea striker, and yes, it is £33m less than what Chelsea paid Liverpool two years ago.

Meanwhile Jose Mourinho, the new boss at Chelsea is ready for face to face talk with Torres before making any final decisions about the club’s highest-paid player, and with Torres knowing that the club  is chasing £54m Napoli striker Edinson Cavani that his days are numbered.

All that matters now just how big a hit Chelsea are willing to take on the Spaniards price, which when you consider he still has 3-years remainng on his contract with Chelsea would be a huge savings in salary.

Torres currently makes £175,000-a-week, which is something Barcelona would be willing to pay in order to agree terms with the player.

Torres has scored 22 goals, which was his most productive season in Chelsea, however, only eight goals were scored in the Premier League.

Barcelona see Torres as back-up striker and believe his return to Camp Nou can revitalize his career.  The 29-year-old Torres is currently on international duty with Spain and is not due back to Stamford Bridge for another month.

Barcelona are are also rumoured to be preparing a £35m offer for Blues centre-half David Luiz.
