Tottenham have continued their busy summer signing Christian Eriksen from Ajax for £11.5 million, making the Danish international their seventh signing of the summer after now spending over £100 million on new players.
The 21-year-old midfielder had been heavily linked to Liverpool but in the end decided that his future was in London with him now joining up with his former Ajax teammate Jan Vertonghen in north London.
A statement from Spurs read: “We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Ajax for the transfer of Christian Eriksen.
“The attacking midfielder enjoyed great success during his time in Amsterdam, winning three consecutive Dutch league championships between 2011 and 2013.
“He was also named Dutch Football Talent of the Year and Ajax Talent of the Year in 2011. He was also voted Danish Football Player of the Year that same year.”
“Everyone has followed the development of Spurs and it’s something I want to be part of.”
