Tottenham’s Eric Dier is being linked with a move to Manchester United this summer after reportedly being watched on a number of occasions by United manager Jose Mourinho, who has identified the Tottenham man as one of his summer transfer targets.
This morning’s English Newspapers back-pages are dominated by headlines linking the ex-Sporting Lisbon man to United in the summer for an estimated transfer fee thought to be in the region of £35m.
Mourinho is said to be a huge fan of the 23-year old and is rumoured to have a massive transfer kitty of around £200m to spend this summer. If the rumours are to be true – United could spend £120m of that bringing Dier alongside Athletico Madrid and France’s star striker Antoine Greizmann who is also being linked with a move to the Red Devils in the summer for £80m.
Its unlikely Tottenham’s manager Mauricio Pochettino will let the defender/midfielder leave without a fight. Having signed Dier in 2014, Pochettino offered Dier a 5-year deal in the Summer and see’s the versatile player a key part of Tottenham’s future and is adamant he is not for sale.
Its likely United would have to pay more than the rumoured £35m being a rival premier league club and the length of Dier’s current contract with Tottenham.
