As if being a Tottenham fan was not hard enough given the roller-coaster ride the fans have endured this season hitting its high point on New Year’s day in what for many of us was this season’s best match when the Yids beat Chelsea 5-3 at White Hart Lane, only to be followed by being out muscled by Stoke City losing 3-0 last weekend.

The star player is of course breakthrough striker Harry Kane who has scored 30 goals for Spurs this season while also winning the Professional Footballers’ Association Young Player of the Year award.

According to the Daily Mail Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has made the 21-year-old a top summer target and is willing to pay Tottenham £45 million in order to bring him to Old Trafford.

If this deal were to happen, the young England striker will follow in the footsteps of other north London greats Teddy Sheringham, Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov.

United have also pencilled in Spurs French international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as a replacement for David de Gea, should the 24-year-old Spaniard decide to move to Real Madrid.

In response to the Manchester United rumours Tottenham used both Kane and Lloris to launce next season’s new kit.
