According to leading Spanish daily football newspaper Marca Manchester United has opened talks with Atletico Madrid for midfield genius Koke.
The 23-year-old Spanish international has had an impressive season for the mattress makers, and also has Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho looking at making a double bid for him and French forward Antoine Griezmann.
Both players have the same release clause in their contract which now has Atletico scrambling to get them to sign new deals that will raise their buyout to a whopping £100 million.
Here at Soccer Transfers we cannot see Koke wanting to leave Spain where he is very comfortable, and if Atletico does offer him a new deal we will expect to see him take it.
Griezmann however is another kettle of fish and could be tempted to move to Stamford Bridge should manager Jose Mourinho be able to convince him to leave.
