Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he has been impressed by what England U-21 striker Danny Ings has achieved this season at Burnley, scoring ten goals in a side that produces very few chances.

Ings contact at Turf Moor is up this summer with suggestions that the 22-year-old has already agreed to join Liverpool, and that the Reds will pay a nominal fee of around £4 million to relegated Burnley as compensation.

“He’s a terrific young player, but there are a number of options for us to look at,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show.

“There’s no doubt he’s done really well for Burnley and he’s a good young player.”

Ings is the type of player who could flourish at Anfield, and given his cheap fee and Premier League experience Liverpool would be crazy not to sign him.
