A war of words has broken out between the Spanish sports daily’s over what is actually going on between Lionel Messi and Luis Enrique at Barcelona.

The crunch of the matter is claims that Messi is not happy with trainer Luis Enrique with reports saying that if the manager is not sacked Messi will leave.

Mundo Deportivo has a big “No” plastered across their front page today and a quote from club president Maria Bartomeu: “It’s absolutely false that Messi asked Luis Enrique’s sacking”.

They also run a story with a denial that a member from Messi’s inner circle had put Dutchman Frank Rijkaard’s name forward to be the new trainer.

These headlines conflict those of Barcelona mouthpiece SPORT, who claim that Messi wants to stay at the Nou Camp, but only if certain conditions are met.

It all boils down to the fact that Messi does not get along with Luis Enrique, and if Enrique is still at the club come June the Argentinian playmaker will leave.

So perhaps the thought of him joining Chelsea is not as crazy as people once thought.
