Sime Vrsaljko

According to Sport Mediaset Inter Milan has made contact with Genoa over Croatian international right-back Sime Vrsaljko, who Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had shortlisted as a possible replacement for French international Bacary Sagna should he refuse to sign a new contract and leave Arsenal this summer.

The Croatian defender only joined Genoa last July  but has already earned the interest of several top European clubs after a good first season in Serie A including Inter Milan who are eager to get their summer shopping done early fearful that player like  Vrsaljko could have a good World Cup after which their value would surely rise.

Inter Milan’s new owner Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir is planning a complete overhaul of his underperforming club and is looking at bringing the 22-year-old defender to the San Siro in early June.
