Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has rubbished rumours that he wants to return to Spain after being linked to a host of La Liga clubs this summer.
Top of the list of clubs interested in the 29-year-old playmaker were Spanish Champions Atletico Madrid whose trainer Diego Simeone is keen to add to his squad after losing a few vital players over the summer.
After having scored the opening goal in Arsenals 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Community Shield Cazorla dismissed talk of him leaving saying he was only interested in Arsenal.
“I’ve seen that [reports of a move] in the papers, but nobody has told me anything personally and the only things I know are from the papers, so I don’t know anything,” said the Spaniard, speaking to radio station Cadena Cope.
“I’m only focused on training here and preparing well playing with Arsenal. It’s paper talk.
“I’m well, I have the confidence of everybody, the support of the fans and we hope to have a good season.”
