Real Madrid’s new manager Carlo Ancelotti has praised the way that the Portuguese striker shows his professionalism, and of his great importance to the team as a whole.

Ancelotti had nothing but praise for the clubs top scorer following their 3-1 win over Chelsea in Miami last night to win the International Champions Cup in a match that saw the Madrid striker score two goals.

“Ronaldo is the man for Real Madrid. He is very important to us,” Ancelotti was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.

“I think that if Ronaldo performs, the coach’s job is easier.

“He scores lots of goals, is very important and I am happy to be coaching him. He is professional, focused and very motivated.”

There has been much speculation as to the future of Los Blancos top player with him being linked to both Manchester United and to Monaco.

Reports are suggesting that he is on the verge of signing a new deal with Madrid which will see him receive 17€ per-season a million more than La Liga’s other star Lionel Messi earns.
