Sky Sports Spanish football pundit Guillem Balague opened the floodgates on transfer rumours yesterday telling Revista de La Liga that Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata will join Arsenal this summer if the two clubs can agree a fee with the big word being IF!!!
Stories linking the 21-year-old to Arsenal are nothing new with almost the entire month of January being full of speculation that Morata would be joining the Gunners on loan until the end of the season which as we all know now never happened.
Despite Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s admiration for the youngster Morata has always maintained that he would like to stay at Real Madrid and fight for his place in the team, and with Ancelotti’s preferred choice Karim Benzema still in front of him, and with it looking like Los Blancos could sign another striker Morata may well decide that his future lies elsewhere.
The trouble for Arsenal will be should Madrid put him up for sale Arsenal will not be the only team interested in acquiring his goal scoring talents.
Balague later went on twitter to emphasize that what he claimed came with a big IF.
