Real Madrid striker agrees terms with Arsenal

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is said to have agreed terms to join Arsenal in the summer after deciding to leave Real Madrid according to Spanish sports newspaper AS who are saying that he has already told Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger that he wants to play football for Arsenal.

The 21-year-old has only started in one La Liga game all season after manager Carlo Ancelotti preferred to play Jesé Rodriguez in his starting line-up, with Morata seeing this as a deterrent to him playing for Los Blancos helping to make up his mind to leave the club.

Arsenal had been trying to sign Morata to a loan deal during the January transfer window with only Real’s refusal to let Morata leave during the season forcing the deal to collapse.

AS ,is reporting that Real Madrid will agree to sell the youngster to Arsenal at a reduced price, if Arsenal would allow a buyback clause to be included in the contract as a part of the deal.

Morata was always considered to be one of the most talented players at the Real Madrid Academy but admitted in January that he might be forced to leave his childhood club if things did not improve.

“Real Madrid have been my team since I was little and will be all my life, but I think the important thing is to have a relevant role in the team,” Morata said.

“If I ever feel that’s not the case, I would look at other options. In football, it’s very difficult to stay at the top and even more so in a team like Real.

The suggestion is that Arsenal will have to pay £15 million for the young Spaniard.
