REAL MADRID were last night forced to deny reports that the club’s stars asked for Jose Mourinho to be sacked in the summer.

President Florentino Perez slammed claims that captains Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos told him that senior stars would put in transfer requests if Mourinho continues next season.

Perez said: “It is completely false that in the lunch I had with the captains and general director an ultimatum about the manager was discussed.

“What was published was simply a lie to destabilise the club.”

Mourinho has had high-profile bust-ups with Cristiano Ronaldo, Ramos, Pepe, Mesut Ozil, Fabio Coentrao and Casillas, who will miss the Champions League clash against Manchester United after breaking his left hand.

With keeper Casillas out, Mourinho will consider moves for Spurs’ £10million-rated Hugo Lloris and QPR stopper Julio Cesar.
