Sergio Ramos gave his all again, this time against Borussia Dortmund.

Maybe he’s lacking the spark or freshness that he’s shown in other games.

But at the moment he’s playing with pain and discomfort in his buttock and there can be no doubt about his dedication or the sacrifice he’s making.

The Spaniard admitted that his performance on the pitch is being hindered by the pains that started in his back but are now further down.

“Yes, it’s true that I don’t feel 100%, that I’m not fully fit because of these muscle pains, but now isn’t the time to stop because we have injuries to key players in defence and we have to be there, as a team”, he stated.

Tuesday’s, was in fact the fifth consecutive game that he’s played with this pain.

He hasn’t been fully fit since he played with the Spanish national team in the games against Belarus and France.

After being unable to train with the rest of the squad for 12 days, he trained as normal on Monday, the day before playing Borussia Dortmund at the Bernabeu. His enthusiasm is admirable.

He assures that the sacrifice is proving to be worth it because the team is doing well, climbing towards the top of the league and closing in on qualification for the Champions League last 16.

In private he has said that there will be plenty of time to rest when he’s on holiday at the beach.
