Borussia Monchengladbach’s sporting director Max Eberl has again declared that Swiss international midfielder Granit Xhaka will not be sold this month.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal. Chelsea and Liverpool in recent days with a transfer fee of around 40€ million said to be enough for the Bundesliga club to sell.
When asked about Xhaka leaving this month, Eberl declared: “No. That is something I can control”.
He does however concede that it could be an entirely different story come the summer.
“[In recent years] players like Reus and ter Stegen, Kruse and Kramer have left. Perhaps in the summer Granit Xhaka is also away.”
