Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski was once again pivotal for Arsenal scoring two goals in their 3-0 away win against Hull City as the Gunners try to tie down that all important 4th place finish.

Everton meanwhile won at home to Manchester United 2-0 meaning that the Gunners have only a one point advantage over the Toffee’s.

German international Lukas Podolski says that Arsenal are taking nothing for granted knowing that they still must play Newcastle, West Brom and Norwich with the latter two fighting hard to avoid relegation.

When speaking after the match against Hull the 28-year-old told Sky Sports: “It’s important to get fourth place, but it’s important to go match to match.”

“We now look forward to our next game against Newcastle because every game is important.”

Podolski has scored twice for the Gunners in his last two games despite playing in a position he is not particularly fond of out on the left.

He said: “When you score the goals nobody speaks about where you play. The coach makes the decision where we play and it is just important to get the three points.”

Meanwhile teammate Aaron Ramsey scored his first goal for the club since December after having returned from injury while also winning man of the match for a fine performance.

He is not taking the win lightly though knowing that they play Hull again in the FA Cup final.

“It’s important for us to come here and get the win, to keep our position in the league,” he said.

“We have beaten Hull twice but are not going to take them lightly. They are a well organised team, get crosses in and we can’t rely on our previous performances against them.”
