Bayern Munich fans woke this morning to see front page news on German daily Sports Bild that their manager Pep Guardiola will quit the Allianz Arena at the end of next season to take over the Qatar national team as they prepare for the 2022 World Cup.

As farfetched as this might sound you must remember that the German giant’s manager spent two years in the oil rich nation as a player, and regularly takes his Bayern Munich team there for training breaks.

He also gave the Gulf State his backing in their bid to host the World Cup.

Money wise Qatar would be willing to give the Catalan manager whatever he asked to come and take over their national team, and if the team they put together for the 2015 World Men’s Handball Championship is anything to go by they will offer Qatari passports to foreign players in order to give their team a fighting chance in the competition.

To us this sounds like a job Guardiola may be interested in taking, despite the fact we would rather see him in the Premier League going up against Jose Mourinho.
