Having lost out on Barcelona winger Pedro at the last minute thanks to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho hijacking the deal, Manchester United is ready to pay the Blues boss back in kind by going after the Portuguese managers prized target, Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.

The 24-year-old French international has been on Mourinho’s wish list for some time, but now that he has gone and pulled the carpet out from under Manchester United while club vice chairman Ed Woodward was negotiating a deal for Pedro, the Red Devils boss is plotting to pay Chelsea back in kind according to the Daily Mail by going after Griezmann.

Atletico Madrid meanwhile has just raised the bar on their star player by putting a £57 million buyout clause on his head, but given the clubs financial situation they would be forced to listen to what Manchester United has to offer.

Also given the fact LVG has gotten rid of two of the clubs biggest earners RVP and Falcao, they would have no problem meeting the Spanish clubs price if necessary.
