Not being involved in the FA Cup may be the best thing that ever happened to Chelsea if you sit back and look at the big picture.

The defeat to League One Bradford was a huge shock to the fans especially after being 2-0 up at halftime thinking that all they had to do now was coast through the next 45 minutes.

If anything it proved to the players that you cannot let your guard down for an instant which will serve them well when they travel to France next Tuesday to take on French champions Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their last 16 Champions League match.

The silver lining to not being in action this weekend means that Jose Mourinho will have a well-rested team that has had all week to work on their game plan to either beat or contain PSG in the Park des Princes.

Midfield playmaker Cesc Fabregas should be back to full fitness and striker Diego Costa will be raring to go after having missed the Blues last three matches through suspension.

Getting knocked out of the FA Cup may be a slight embarrassment for Chelsea fans, but if the team can now push on and get past PSG in the Champions League and then win the Capital One Cup on March 1st against Spurs the loss to Bradford will be nothing more than a distant memory.
