Former Atletico Madrid and now Chelsea striker Diego Costa is claiming that the Blues boss and his former manager Diego Simeone are very similar in their approach to the game and the players involved.

Spanish international Costa joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid last summer for a fee believed to be around £32 million, and has had no trouble adjusting to life in the Premier League where he is currently the top-scorer with 17 goals.

When being interviewed by Spanish sports newspaper SPORT Costa spoke about how his former boss and Mourinho are so much alike saying: ‘Jose Mourinho and Cholo Simeone have plenty of things in common, such as the passion for the game or the levels of commitment they demand from the players.

‘They ask the player to give everything he has inside. However, when it comes to tactics, Mourinho and Simeone have a different vision of the game.’

The 26-year-old also went on to say that the English game is much more physical than what he was used to in Spain adding: ‘In England, the referees don’t call many fouls, as opposed to Spanish football, and consequently, you must be really strong all through the 90 minutes.’
