After having been given permission to speak to Juventus Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler has not agreed a move to Turin leaving the door open to Arsenal and perhaps even Manchester City if they should fail in their attempt to land Wolfsburg star Kevin De Bruyne.

The Italian champions are looking to bring in a new midfielder after having seen Chilean international midfielder Arturo Vidal sign for Bayern Munich, and were hoping that the young German international would be up for the challenge of a move to Italy.

Draxler’s agent, Roger Wittman said: “There is no agreement so there can be no talk of that.

“Jule’s considering a few things, but that has been the case every summer.”

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been tracking Draxler for some time and even had a bid turned down for the 21-year-old in the past.

But now when it appears he finally might be prepared to leave Schalke, Wenger has the perfect opportunity and the cash available to bring him to the Emirates.
