Manchester United has no chance in their efforts to sign Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller according to German football expert Raf Honigstein who claims there would be a riot at the Allianz Arena if the Bavarian giants sanctioned a deal.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked to Old Trafford ever since the Red Devils signed his former teammate Bastian Schweinsteiger, with United supposedly offering 100€ million for the World Cup winner.
But while speaking to talkSPORT Hongistein said: “I don’t think there’s any realistic chance Bayern Munich will let Thomas Muller leave,” he told Hawksbee and Jacobs.
“There’s even a suggestion that the latest bid from Manchester United was leaked by Bayern, just to say, ‘we are Bayern, the bids are coming in and we are saying no regardless’.
“If there was something serious going on they would be very careful to keep it quiet because politically it’s dynamite. If they let Muller go, there would be riots in the streets of Munich.”
