Garay,

By Mark Finlay

It is new Manager David Moyes first day on the job at Old Trafford, and not wanting to waste any time is going to make Benfica’s Ezeguiel Garay his first signing of the summer.

Garay has been of interest to United since last February, and now that Benfica have lined up a replacement for their Argentinian centre-half in fellow Argentinian , Lisandro Ezequiel Lopez from Arsenal de Sarandi for a fee of $3.5 million Benfica are now in a position to sell Garay to United for what is thought to be around £17 million.

Moyes is known to want a new centre-half and will be given the money to spend while Benfica say that there is also another team looking to buy if the price is right with my guess being Liverpool as they look for a replacement for Jamie Carragher who retired at the end of last season.
