Tottenham have reportedly beaten off competition from Real Madrid and Arsenal to the signatures of both Tin Jedvaj and Alen Halilovic.

The Dinamo Zagreb duo will be loaned back to their Croatian club for a year before arriving permanently at White Hart Lane in 2014.

Spurs will shell out £15million for the highly sought after pairing, with some of the fee comprised of 'performance related' clauses'.

Although these two aren't the players Spurs fan had hoped to be arriving through the door, they certainly are two of the finest youth players in world football.

The deal hasn't been confirmed, however Zagreb's chairman expects the transfers to be completed soon.

In the same statement, Zoran Mamic believes Halilovic could make a bigger impact at White Hart Lane than his Croatian counterpart Luka Modric.

“A lot of people have compared him to Luka Modric, but he’s better than Luka was at this age.

“Everyone at the club thinks he has even more potential and that he will become one of the best players in the world.”

AVB holds Villa talks

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has personally rang David Villa to try and convince the Barcelona man to join the club.

The former Valencia man is set for the Nou Camp exit this summer and a host of Europe's elite have been linked with the 31-year-old.

Spain's record goalscorer is thought to prefer a move to the Premier League though and given the fact Arsenal favour Gonzalo Higauin, it only leaves Spurs.

Villa struggled last season, however still has a couple of years at the top left and now is his last chance for a big move.
