José Mourinho has decided on his starting 11 to face Atlético Madrid in the Madrid derby on Saturday night but still has one decision to make: whether to play Mesut Özil or Luka Modric in the attacking midfielder role.

If Mourinho plumps for Özil, it will be the same starting line-up that lost 1-0 to Real Betis last weekend, while if he chooses Modric, it will be the same team that drew 1-1 with Manchester City last Wednesday.

Both players were the only regular starters to start against Alcoyano on Tuesday and both completed the game, meaning Mourinho gave away no clue as to which player he has in mind to face Atleti.

Karim Benzema, Fabio Coentrao and Ángel Di María all made substitute appearances in the game, but Cristiano Ronaldo watched the entire 90 minutes from the bench.

Ronaldo has now gone three games without scoring but played a crucial role in both derbies last season, scoring five of the eight goals Madrid put past ‘Los Colchoneros’ in 2011-12, including a hat-trick in the Calderón and two goals, both from the penalty spot, at the Bernabéu.

The last time the Portuguese went three games without scoring was in October 2011, and he brought the drought to an emphatic close in his fourth game, bagging three goals against Málaga.
