There is an air of confidence at Stamford Bridge that by the time the transfer window shuts on September 2nd Wayne Rooney will be a Chelsea player.

Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho has always liked Rooney even when he was at Inter Milan, and at Real Madrid, but would never make a move for the player so long as his friend Sir Alex Fergusson was in charge at Old Trafford.

Now that has all changed with new manager David Moyes running the show saying that Rooney was basically a backup for the clubs main striker Dutchman Robin van Persie the 27-year-old striker wants to leave.

Personally I think it would be the best thing that Rooney could do both for himself and for England as a move to Chelsea will revitalize him, and allow him to play in a position where he can score the most goals.

He will also have something to prove to all the neigh Sayers which would make him absolutely deadly for the London side turning them into contenders for the title.

Mourinho has said that Rooney is his only summer target, and if he wants to get him the money will be available.

Expect to see Rooney wearing blue next season, and as for me he will be the striker in my fantasy football team, as I expect him to score a lot of goals.
