As Chelsea prepare to take on league leaders Leicester City Monday night at the King Power Stadium, Blues boss Jose Mourinho has dropped a huge hint that he may try and sign Foxes top scorer Jamie Vardy once the transfer window opens in just under three weeks’ time.

Chelsea is just one club being linked with the former Fleetwood Town striker after having witnessed his stunning Premier League form since joining Leicester.

‘He is top scorer and it is normal big clubs want him,’ he said.

‘It is a beautiful story and his record is historic.’

The 28-year-old Sheffield Wednesday fan is a real rags to riches fairy-tale after his accent from non-league to Premier League football, where he has this season scored 14 goals, including 11 goals in 11 games to establish a new record.

Vardy is valued now at £25 million with Leicester braced to handle multiple bids once the January transfer window opens for business.
