Liverpool star midfielder Philippe Coutinho is expecting big things to happen in the transfer market now that former Borussia Dortmund trainer Jürgen Klopp is in charge at Anfield.

Meanwhile the 48-year-old German has tried to play down any talk of players coming into the club in January, saying he needs more time to assess the players he already has available to him.

This has not however stopped Brazilian international Coutinho from saying that he expects to see some big names join him on Merseyside.

Coutinho said: “With him coming it could attract more good players, for sure.

“He is a big manager. A top manager. He gives the players a lot of confidence.

“He has a lot of experience. He’s open to listening to the players as well, so it’s good.”

Since Klopp’s arrival, Liverpool has been linked with German stars Thomas Muller, Marco Reus and Mats Hummels.
