Manchester United is getting ready to hold talks with Italian Serie A side Juventus to see if the two clubs can work out a deal that sees midfield ace Paul Pogba returning to Old Trafford while Red Devils striker Robin Persie moves to Turin in a £54 million cash plus player deal.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also said to be interested as are Spanish giants Real Madrid and French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester United has contacted Juventus according to reports in the hope of jumping in front of other parties, but with Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola claiming his player is worth 100 million euros, United may have to pony up more cash than they would want.

Speaking to Spanish sports newspaper Marca a couple of months ago the Italian agent said: “For me, he is the flagship of a new generation, the star, the leader. Today, there is nobody like Pogba. Including Barca, there are only seven clubs that can afford him.”
