Arsenal is ready to spoil Manchester United’s chances of pulling off a double deal for Borussia Dortmund pair Matts Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan, by launching an £18.4 million bid for the central midfielder Gundogan.
United had hoped they could seal a deal by offering £50 million for both players £35 for Hummels and £15 for pass-master Gundogan who looks almost certain to leave the North Rhine Westphalia club this summer.
According to German football magazine Kicker, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger remains a huge fan of the 24-year-old and will make another attempt to try and sign him after having been turned down by the Bundesliga giants in January.
