There never seems to be enough talk of one day seeing Cristiano Ronaldo return to Old Trafford, and the daily tabloids are once more talking about the prodigal son returning home after reports suggesting he is unhappy at Real Madrid now that Rafa Benitez is running the team.

We can pretty much tell you that a deal is never going to happen, and that United fans should in fact be happy that it will never materialize.

Can you imagine a player with Ronaldo’s ego playing under Louis van Gaal? The Dutchman is all about playing as a team and tracking back to defend, not quite the type of sometimes selfish style of play that the Portuguese winger is used to.

Also Ronaldo is now 30-year-old, which means he as far as football is concerned is on the way out. Just look at Wayne Rooney and how he is struggling to perform these days and it should be enough to stop you wanting to see Ronaldo back at the Theatre of Dreams even if it did mean United selling a ton of jerseys with the Real Madrid stars name on them.

What Manchester United should do if they want a marque signing is go after Ronaldo’s Real Madrid teammate Gareth Bale who is unlike CR7 a team player that would thrive under Louis van Gaal.

The only problem here is that Real Madrid will not want to sell and especially more so if Ronaldo was to leave in the summer. Still there is no harm in trying and with David De Gea still wanted by Real Madrid who know maybe a deal could be done.
