According to German newspaper SportBild Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will have to battle new Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp if he wants to sign Schalke 04 winger Leroy Sane.
The £11 million rated 19-year old is having a wonderful season with the Gelsenkirchen club and is expected to get his debut with the German national team before next summer’s European Championships after national team trainer Joachim Low described him of having a “special gift”:
“Leroy has an incredibly good feeling when it comes to running into space and, with his speed, he has acquired this very well.”
“He has shown the quality that he has in the final third and in the Bundesliga matches that we have observed, he has simply convinced us.”
“He is a player with a special gift and finesse, speed paired with technique and strong running – at just 19. He can make the jump with us very quickly.”
Klopp of course knows Sane from his time in the Bundesliga, and with the young German set to make his senior debut for Low we would expect both Arsenal and Liverpool to make their move in January before his price rises after the summer tournament.
