According to reports in today’s Daily Mirror newspaper Manchester United is ready to break the bank in order to sign Juventus midfield star Arturo Vidal this January.

The Chilean international has long said that he has no desire to leave Turin, but a massive pay hike to his salary could be enough for him to have a change of heart.

The Juventus player has been just one in a list of players mentioned as possible midfield targets for the Champions.

The 26-year-old just signed a new contract with the Serie A club last month so it would indeed be a giant coup should David Moyes be able to pull it off.

Despite what Moyes has said publicly the fans are expecting him to be busy signing players in January as the club fully expects to be challenging for the Premiership title.

Some of the names being mentioned are Everton’s Leighton Baines and young sensation Ross Barkley while talk of landing Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke also refuse to go away.
