Soccer website caughtoffside is running a story about Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez saying they have information that he could be a possible target for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger as he looks to strengthen his attack.

David Moyes has hardly played Javier Hernandez since taking over at Old Trafford preferring instead to go with Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie or Danny Welbeck.

Arsenal is ready to offer up to £15 million for the Mexican international, but is worried that Manchester United would not want to sell him to a rival club.

So far this season Arsenal have relied almost entirely on Oliver Giroud and coupled with the injury Nicklas Bendtner picked up against Cardiff City Wenger will be looking at bringing in another striker even though he still has Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski as the Frenchman prefers to use them in wider roles.

As for Hernandez wanting to leave United it is a possibility that he might be ready to move to a club where he will get more playing time ahead of next summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

The question though is do United want to sell the former Guadalajara man? The answer could very well depend on who Moyes is looking to sign this January and whether or not he needs to offload any players in order to balance the books.
