Eto'o, Moyes, MAN united, Anzhi Makhachkala,

Manchester United manager David Moyes is looking to make a cut price deal for Anzhi Makhachkala front man Samuel Eto’o this summer, according to reports in the Metro.

The Cameroonian striker is up for sale following the demise of the big spending Russian side, as they seek to cut costs by unloading all of their expensive imported players.

While United’s top scoring striker Robin van Persie is very happy at Old Trafford their other striker Wayne Rooney is looking for a move away, with his preferred destination Chelsea making Moyes look at Eto’o as a replacement should the club allow Rooney to move.

Manchester United representatives are expected to meet with Eto’o agent in London this week in order to secure a deal that will see the 32-year-old move to the northwest before the transfer window closes on September 2nd.

The only sticking point will be the striker’s wages which were quoted as being the highest in the world at £300,000 per week which United would not be willing to pay, but should Rooney leave his £250,000 per-week would certainly be something that they could bargain with.
