According to reports Manchester United is holding talks with Portuguese side Porto in the hope of signing their brilliant Brazilian right-back Danilo.

The 23-year-old is also converted by Liverpool, who sees the Brazilian international as the perfect replacement for Glen Johnson who turns 31 in August, and is likely to leave Anfield as the club wants to offer him a one-year contract on substantially less wages.

According to the Daily Express reports say that Manchester United is leading the race for his signature and have already begun negotiating with Porto, who is looking to sell him for £37 million, while United would want to pay considerably less.

If they were to pull off the deal it would certainly ruffle a few feathers on Merseyside after the Reds have put so much work into scouting him this season.
