According to the Daily Star reports coming out of France suggest that Arsenal is in pole position to sign the £70 million rated Paul Pogba ahead of both Chelsea and Manchester United.

For some time now Arsenal has been linked with the French international, and it is well known that manager Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of the 21-year-old midfielder.

The key to the deal may also be a report by METRO that claims the Gunners are also trying to hire Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratic, the very same man that convinced Pogba to join him in Turin.

If Paratic was to join Arsenal it would most likely be in the same capacity as his role with Juventus, a job that used to be done for Arsenal by David Dein.

It will be very interesting to see if Arsenal is prepared to spend the kind of money it would take to land Pogba, but if the club truly does have the ambition to become able to compete with the big boys the signing of Pogba would certainly signal intent, while getting Paratic on board would allow Wenger or whoever finally replaces him to concentrate on the football, and not the transfer market or players contract.
