Manchester United and Arsenal both weight up moves for £29m Winger

Manchester United and Arsenal are both weighing up January moves for Leicester City’s £29 million rated winger Riyad Mahrez after having seen the Algerian international score 13 goals with six assists so far this season.

Top of the table Leicester City will be bracing themselves for bids after French football magazine Le 10 Sport via the Daily Express claimed that Manchester United was preparing a £29 million bid for the 24-year-old.

Under fire Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has not hidden the fact that he is in the market for a pacy winger after having watched Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial struggle to score.

Frenchman Arsene Wenger is also interested in the Leicester City winger after following his progress since he joined the Foxes for just £400,000 from Ligue 1 Le Harvre last year.

The Gunners boss even went so far as to make enquiries as to his availability during the summer, but Leicester stood firm saying that none of their top stars were available.

Now as we near the winter transfer window Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri is letting the Premier League big boys know that neither Riyad Mahrez or Jamie Vardy were for sale saying: “Already I spoke to the two guys (Mahrez and Jamie Vardy). We continue together, we can improve, to help grow up the team.

“In my mind they are the first I want to keep and continue with this group. It is a good group. They are desperate in every single ball. I love this.”
