Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear to Liverpool that he wants to sign Raheem Sterling in a bid to regain the Premiership title next season.

The 20-year-old forward has refused to sign a new contract at Anfield alerting other top clubs that he is looking for a move away from Merseyside this summer, and now it would appear as though City hoping to get the jump on both Arsenal and Chelsea have made the first move during the annual meeting of the league on Thursday Etihad big wigs let Liverpool know they were serious about signing the Liverpool youngster according to The Sun.

It would appear as if Liverpool has accepted that Sterling will leave after seeing him turn down £100,000 per-week to stay at the club, and now will be looking to sell the former QPR academy player for a fee believed to be around £50 million.
