Manchester City is going to offer Liverpool £30 million for Raheem Sterling once the summer transfer window opens, while at the same time looking to sell Nasri, Toure, Sagna, Navas, Dzeko and Jovetic in an effort to raise funds for a new team.

City is determined to beat off interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United in the race for the 20-year-old forward after making the Liverpool ace their number one summer target after learning of his refusal to sign a new contract at Anfield despite the Reds being will in to pay the youngster £100,000 per-week.

The Qatari backed team has also not given up on their desire to bring Bayern Munich trainer Pep Guardiola to the Etihad as a replacement for manager Manuel Pellegrini, but with the Catalan coach still having one year left on his contract with the German champions they can either go with Pellegrini for another season or bring in a short-term replacement such as former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez who is looking to move back to the Premiership when he leaves Napoli at the end of the season.
