Manchester City is making moves to approach Liverpool for last night’s hero Philippe Coutinho after the 22-year-old playmaker scored the only goal against Blackburn Rovers to book Liverpool a place in the FA Cup semi-final against Aston Villa.

According to the Daily Mirror City has been watching the young Brazilian become one of the Reds most influential players and are preparing to sign him this summer for a fee believed to be around £35 million.

Coutinho just signed a new deal with the Merseyside club in February which included a pay raise that now sees him earning £70,000 per-week a figure that City will have no trouble increasing as they look to overhaul their aging squad in the summer.

This will add to Liverpool’s fears of losing yet another of their top players this summer as Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson both refuse to sign new contracts at Anfield.
