Since Barcelona let it be known that Spanish international midfielder Cesc Fabregas is available for sale at £30 million a host of Premier League teams have shown interest including his former club Arsenal who have the first option thanks to a buy back clause they included in the deal when he was sold to Barcelona.
According to the Daily Mirror the appeal for Manchester City is that the 27-year-old would be an ideal for Yaya Toure who has been complaining lately about not being respected by the club, and also the fact that the Spaniard is regarded as a home grown player after having joined Arsenal as a 15-year-old and coming up through the ranks.
His current wage is also appealing with Barcelona paying him £100,000 per-week which is half the amount City pays to Toure.
Manchester United were also linked to the 27-year-old, but have gone cold since Louis van Gaal was appointed their new manager, but Liverpool could be an outside contender if they decide that Southampton’s £30 million valuation of Adam Lallana is too much especially when you could get the man that led La Liga in assists for the past two seasons for the same price.
