According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Liverpool is prepared to do battle with Everton for Monaco’s classy full-back Yarouba Cissako.

The 20-year-old French youth international spent last season on loan with Belgium club Zulte-Waregem and is currently in talks with the Principality side about extending his contract with the club.

With Glen Johnson leaving this summer and also Javier Manquillo likely to be sent back to Spain after having failed to make an impact at Liverpool, Cissako could prove to be a relatively inexpensive option for the Reds who also given his age fits in with the clubs transfer policy.

Standing in the way of a move to Anfield however is Everton and also German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund with both clubs keeping a close eye on developments.
