Reports in Italy are saying that Liverpool has told Inter Milan they can have Lucas Leiva for £10 million plus bonuses.

The Italian Serie A club has been looking for a holding midfielder since last summer but failed when they tried to sign West Ham target Mario Suarez from Atletico Madrid.

This now has Inter boss Roberto Mancini focussing all his efforts on the Liverpool midfielder who has fallen down the pecking order under Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, although it must be said he has played extremely well in his last few games for the club.

Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Mancini has been in touch with Rodgers and that the pair have agreed a fee with nothing left to do other than Mancini convincing Inter’s board that it is good for the club.
